Senior Environment Artist

Buzz Monkey Software is currently in need of a Senior Environment Artist for various titles.
Responsibilities:
- Creation of game environments, including modeling, materials, and lighting
- Collaborating with the Art and Design teams to create high standard models and textures
- Contributing innovative and original ideas towards new processes and tools
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years experience in the gaming industry, with a primary focus on in-engine asset creation.
- Solid knowledge of Max or Maya
- Must have a basic understanding of game creation limits and dependencies
- Willing to accept and provide direction, work well under pressure, and handle multiple tasks
- Self motivated and a desire to work with a team
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
- Complete tasks within the prescribed deadlines

Lead Animator

Buzz Monkey Software is currently in need of a Lead Animator for various titles. The
ideal Lead Animator candidate excels at both gameplay and cinematic animation, including
characters, weapons, props and cameras.
Responsibilities:
- Work with the art, design and engineering teams to develop, convey and implement the game's animation style.
- Create animations using multiple systems, key-framed, motion capture, and facial rigs.
- Supervise the animation team and ensure consistent project visual quality standards are met.
- Collaborate with the Art Director and Art Production Manager to create and execute the animation schedule. Ensure animation deliverables meet project defined deadlines and budgets.
- Evaluate, design and problem solve technical animation processes with art leads and engineering team.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant industry experience, including some leadership experience.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills that translate into successful and timely deliverables.
- Familiarity with game development and the interrelation between character animation and game design.
- A solid background in all basic animation principles and techniques.
- Experience using Maya.
- Experience using Motion Builder.
- Self-motivated, with a strong work ethic.

Systems Designer

Buzz Monkey Software is currently in need of a Systems Designer for various titles. The
Systems Designer reports to the Lead Designer and Creative Director and is responsible for
conception, balance, functionality and fun for designated systems within the game.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinates with Lead Designer to execute game vision by developing gameplay and game systems such as: combat, controls, scoring, challenge progression, user feedback, character tuning/player package and more.
- Clearly describes and illustrates game systems to all pertinent disciplines.
- Documents systems via feature specs, system concept documents and other components of a Game Design Document.
- Works closely with Programmers to understand system capabilities based on specific gameplay goals, engine and production constraints.
- Collaborates with Tech and Art departments to plan, build and refine system from concept to final execution.
- Conceptualizes, implements, tunes and maintains system data through production via dtp data, scripting, or other tuning mechanisms and collaborates with other designers to realize systems in the game.
- Analyze game design and implementation issues and solve problems with logic and creativity.
- Communicate directly with clients regarding specific systems.
- Task junior designers with system related design tasks.
- Manage own schedule with coordination of Lead Designer and Producer.
- Direct system-focused multi-disciplinary strike-teams.
Requirements:
- 1+ years of video game industry experience as a Systems Designer.
- Strong knowledge of game design with a focus on systems.
- Strong understanding of the mathematical principles behind game design.
- Strong spreadsheet creation and management skills.
- Proficiency with Maya, 3DMax, and proprietary level editing software.
- Four year degree or diploma, or equivalent experience.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills. Passion for creating and delivering AAA games.
- Proficiency with MS Word, Excel.
